Highly-rated 17 year-old midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi has signed a professional contract with Gamba and will therefore be promoted from the youth team that has churned out the likes of Takahiro Futagawa, Takashi Usami, Shu Kurata and the recent pairing of Yuto Uchida and Naoki Ogawa.
It comes as little surprise that the team has decided to do this as Ideguchi has been training with the top team since he turned 17 last year towards the end of the J2 season. He also took part in the training camps in Okinawa and Miyazaki in preparation for the 2014 season and will have no worries in fitting right into the team.
Ideguchi is widely regarded as a future start and the midfielder is known for his good balance between attack and defence as well as being good on the ball whilst still having a very good physical side to his game. He will take the number 26 uniform that was vacated by Takaharu Nishino after he took number 3 at the start of the season.
I doubt that Ideguchi will be getting many games this year but you never know. I am looking forward to seeing him make his pro-debut and that will be sooner rather than later, particularly having made the bench for the Nabisco Cup tie against Vissel Kobe earlier in the month.
Good luck to Yosuke! I doubt he will need it though!
